Rebecca Barry is a magazine writer, author, crafter and yogini. Her first book, Later at the Bar, (Simon and Schuster 2007) was a New York Times Notable Book, a New York Times Editors Choice, and was short­listed for the Story Prize. Her nonfiction has appeared in The New York Times, Glamour, The New York Times Magazine, Real Simple, Hallmark, More, Food and Wine, The Washington Post Magazine, Saveur and The Best American Travel Writing 2003, among other places. Her fiction has appeared in Ploughshares, One Story, Tin House, Ecotone, The Mid- American Review, Best New American Voices, and was shortlisted in Best American Short Stories 2000, 2004, and 2009. She is also the Executive Editor of Fresh Dirt Ithaca, a local green­ living magazine she co­founded with her husband in 2011, and teaches meditation methods to help sharpen and galvanize creativity at the Lakshmi Institute. She has an Etsy shop full of mermaids and cat ornaments she makes when she’s not writing or editing.
